Emergency kit
For a newborn foal, there is nothing as important as the mare's foremilk: the colostrum. This colostrum is crucial for the foal's chances of survival. Exceptionally it occurs that the foal can't get any colostrum: because the mare refuses to nurse the foal, the mare has lost her foremilk before birth, or the mare died while giving birth. In these extreme cases, it is absolutely necessary to intervene within 24 hours, so that the foal still gets its colostrum. That's why Cavalor offers its Emergency kit for foals.

For a newborn foal, there is nothing as important as the mare's foremilk: the colostrum. This colostrum is crucial for the foal's chances of survival. After being born, the foal starts nearly immediately to suck the milk of its mother and ingests hereby the antibodies which will protect him against the bacteria of his environment. The newborn foal has practically no immune system and therefore needs to ingest the colostrum within 24 hours after its birth. This kit consists of two products.
Cavalor Colostra 24 is freeze-dried colostrum: given to the foal within the first 24 hours of its life, it will provide the newborn with the necessary immune bodies. It is very important to watch closely the foal's health and vitality during the first two weeks, since the foundation for its future development is laid during this period. In the worst case that there is not even milk available from the mare, it is possible to switch over to Cavalor Hyppolac, a milk replacer in powder form for foals.
Cavalor Hyppolac stimulates a healthy development of the foal, due to its high content of Vitamin A, D3, E, K3, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, C, iron, lysine and methionine. At the age of 6 to 8 weeks, it is time to get the foal accustomed to concentrated energy feed. Start & Go is particularly indicated, for it contains Artri-Pro. Artri-Pro designates the presence of micronutrients in Start & Go which provide the skeleton optimal support during growth.
